Ruger Rimfire Autoloading RiflesShooters who choose autoloading .22s are people who often shoot a great deal and demand endurance from their firearms. For this group, the Ruger 10/22 is the logical choice. Built to high-power rifle quality, the 10/22 mechanism is exceptionally smooth and reliable. A superior combination of light weight, short overall length, and mechanical dependability, the Ruger 10/22 is the standard for .22 caliber autoloading rifles. Since its introduction in 1964 the Ruger 10/22 has been rifle of choice for plinking, small-game hunting, or competitive shooting events.
The Ruger 10/22 is built to ensure years of reliable service. Every design detail shows what can be done when experienced gunmakers seek excellence rather than low cost. Constructed with simple, integrated subassemblies, the trigger housing contains the entire firing mechanism, which employs a high-speed, swinging hammer to ensure short lock-time. It is equipped with a sliding cross-button-type safety. The mechanical superiority of the 10/22 makes it a worthy companion to the dynamic Ruger large-caliber rifles.
New for 1999 is a steel-receiver .22 Magnum version of this famous rimfire rifle. A longer, heavier bolt is used to handle the powerful .22 WMR cartridge. It uses a longer version of the Ruger rotary magazine, first utilized in the Ruger 77/22 Magnum rifle. Like other Ruger 10/22s, the magazine fits flush with the stock without protruding, so as not to spoil the rifle's appearance and easy carry. The 10/22 Magnum's new steel receiver incorporates the unique Ruger integral scope bases, and 1" precision steel scope rings (a $50.00 value) are included at no extra charge.
The .22 Long Rifle receiver is drilled and tapped for a tip-off scope-mount adapter, supplied with each gun at no extra charge. The unique, ten-shot capacity, removable Ruger rotary magazine is the most reliable .22 magazine ever invented, and has formed the basis for many other Ruger magazines since its revolutionary introduction in 1964.
The Standard 10/22 is offered in blued or stainless-steel barrel models (10/22 Magnum only available with blued barrel) with a stock of high-quality American hardwood. The Deluxe Sporter features a handsomely checkered American walnut stock, sling swivels, and a rubber butt pad. The All-Weather models have a special synthetic stock for maximum resistance to harsh weather conditions. The Target Model has a hammer-forged, spiral-finish barrel in blued or stainless steel, and a special, laminated target-style stock. The Ruger International Carbine has a full-length checkered hardwood stock, and is available in both blued and stainless-steel versions.
If you appreciate fine rifles, you can enjoy the satisfaction of owning a .22 Rimfire built to big-game standards-the Ruger 10/22.
